    Meet Our People: Jerry Martinez

    Jerry Martinez

    1. How long have you been with Triton Power?

I’ve had the privilege of working at Americas Generators/Triton Power for over 15 years.

    2. Why did you join the company?

I have been in the Diesel Generator Industry for over 30 years and have followed the growth of Americas Generators since 1994 as a local startup. I saw the opportunity to join the up-and-coming company in the 2000s, and I was impressed by how innovative and forward-focused the company was, so I decided to join the team.

    3. What’s your favorite part of working for Triton Power?

The friendly team atmosphere is my favorite part of coming to work every morning. All the employees treat each with respect, and everyone works together well.

    4. What is your current position?

    Vice President of Operations

    5. What do you like most about the generator industry?

Being able to have the satisfaction of being a part of an industry that is constantly evolving, changing, and improving. I am continually learning something new.

    6. What inspires you to come to work every day?

I enjoy working in a team environment and learned much by collaborating with other employees. I also enjoy interacting with customers and knowing I positively impact their buying experience.

    7. If you could choose anyone as a mentor, who would you choose and why?

Without a doubt, Jace Espy. He is our in-house engineer and has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience in the power industry. He’s an excellent example to learn from.

    8. What advice would you give someone wanting to enter the generator industry?

If you’ve been considering joining the generator industry, I would suggest starting with basic generator knowledge, such as motors, controls, and the essential elements of electricity.

    9. What’s one thing you learned — industry-related or not — in the last month?

While constantly collaborating with my team gives me the opportunity to gain their insight and feedback on projects and find different ways to complete work more efficiently and productively, thus resulting in improvements.
